Inversion
One of four projects produced during the 2024 Museum of Outdoor Arts “Design and Build” internship. It only takes the footsteps of six people to permanently alter the composition of the soil beneath their feet. Inversion prompts viewers to question the extents of their impact on the world around them.
Utilizing an array of 18 motion sensors and a set of 3 microcontrollers, I was tasked with creating a system that watches for passing pedestrians and vehicles to create a visual representation of their impact on the earth beneath them.
This project was spearheaded by Michael Earle RISD BFA Arch ‘26.
