PC Sconce

The Printed Circuit Sconce employs a flexible polyimide printed circuit board, typically used in electronics for its thermal stability and flexibility, as both the shade and light source of a lighting fixture. Circuit traces and surface textures, usually hidden inside devices, are instead presented as visible ornament. In doing so, the work subverts the material’s usual role as a background component, making it function instead as both decorative surface and luminous interface.
