SQUAK Communicator
Designing a device that facilitates effortless conversation, without the unhealthy qualities of today’s smartphones.
Inspired by the interactions of a walkie talkie, this design let’s the user transmit their voice to another SQUAK user with the push of a button—making easy, back and forth conversation possible. A prominent do not disturb switch makes it easy to let your friends know you’re unavailable. The virtual assistant makes it possible to access directions and useful information. Similar to services like Clubhouse or Twitter Spaces, social media on SQUAK is based around ephemeral audio chat rooms that users can create, join or share. Music streaming is also accessible—and more enjoyable due to enhanced speakers, afforded by the simplified hardware interface.
